SAVE THE DATE: Stata Presentation – May 30 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.
StataCorp’s Senior Statistician, Chuck Huber, will be at GW’s Milken Institute School of Public Health on Tuesday, May 30 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. First Floor Classroom 101.
Dr. Huber will give a presentation on Mediation Analysis using Stata and will reserve time for audience-generated discussion.
About Mediation Analysis:
Mediation analysis is a statistical technique that is used to parse the direct, indirect, and total effect an independent variable (X) on a dependent variable (Y) in the presence of a mediating variable (M). For example, age (X) is associated with higher systolic blood pressure (Y). Age is also associated with higher weight (M) and increased weight is associated with higher systolic blood pressure (SBP). Age has a direct effect on SBP as well as an indirect effect on SBP through it’s effect on weight. This talk will introduce the concepts of mediation analysis and demonstrate how to conduct mediation analysis using Stata.
Many Stata users may recognize his name and voice, as he creates and narrates the training videos featured on StataCorp’s YouTube channel. Before coming to StataCorp, Dr. Huber was previously a professor of Biostatistics at Texas A&M University.
The presentation is available remotely through Webex video and audio conferencing using your computer.
