I Heart GW Public Health - Campaign for Student Support

February 12, 2016

"Our students, staff, and faculty make a difference in the world every day and we are raising the bar to ensure that our love for our school shows in every heart."  –Dean Goldman

The Public Health Student Association and the Office of Alumni Engagement will partner together February 16 - February 19 for the first-ever “I Heart GW Public Health” campaign to raise awareness about the importance of student philanthropy here at GWSPH. Please join us by the second floor student lounge between 2 and 4 pm every day this week to pledge your support to GWSPH, learn about the impact of philanthropy, and share why you “heart” GWSPH.

Alumni, students, faculty, and staff who say “I Heart GW Public Health” through their philanthropy make a difference for GWSPH’s students and faculty who strive to make history every day. By pledging your support this week, you are supporting the educational, networking, and real world experiences that make the student experience so special here at GWSPH.

Here are just a few reasons why you should pledge your support to GWSPH:

It’ll make you happy. Research shows supporting causes you care about through philanthropy boosts your happiness and improves your health.

It’s in your nature. Giving is in our nature and it shows in the origins of the word philanthropy. When we break it down (philos = loving and anthrōpos = man) we get love of mankind.

It’ll make a difference. Gifts of all sizes make a big impact. Last year, over $1 million was raised to support the student experience from donors who donated less than $100 to the University.

It’ll make you proud. Giving strengthens your connection to this amazing community, and when you think about how much you “heart” GW Public Health, you’ll be proud to know you were a part of making this place so great.

Come learn more about philanthropy and pledge your support to GWSPH this week during the “I Heart GW Public Health” campaign.

Engage with us on Twitter and share your love for GW Public Health using the hashtag #IHeartGWSPH!
