Josef Reum is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Health Policy and Management.

Professor Emeritus Reum served in the dean's office for 14 years in a variety of roles including two years as interim dean. He has earned seven Excellence in Teaching Awards, was a charter member of The ASPPH/Pfizer Public Health Academy of Distinguished Teachers and received a Fulbright International Education Administrator grant.

Dr. Reum came to GW as the Deputy Director of the Local Initiative Funding Partners Program, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation national program promoting innovation in health interventions. Dr. Reum served nine governors in six states and was CEO of the American Health Quality Association. He has been a member of the faculty since 1993.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: 

Professor Emeritus Reum is a board member of the HSC Foundation, which facilitates access to appropriate health care and services for children with special needs and their families. He has also facilitated meetings for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, including sessions focused on the future of public health and on quality measures in nursing.

RESEARCH: 

Dr. Reum's primary research interests include leadership, feminist ethics, women's health, cognition and learning, state health policy and the scholarship of discovery.
