Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration or Public Health required. Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years market/environmental and quantitative analytic experience required. Healthcare planning experience preferred.

LICENSE/CERT/REG: No special certification, registration or licensure is required.

SKILLS: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and Advanced data interpretation required. Experience using business intelligence software a plus. Highly motivated, self-starter with a natural sense of curiosity, the ability to adapt to change, exercise initiative, and use independent judgment.

Specifically, the Center:
-Conducts research and analysis on key health policy and market issues
-Develops health reform and modernization solutions that:
-Advance population health, increase the quality of care, improve access to services, and reduce system-wide costs;
-Reflect the breadth and depth of the Enterprise’s capabilities and expertise, as well as the Center’s ongoing assessment of public policy impacts; and
-Represent practical, actionable, and scalable options for federal and state policy makers
and private-sector leaders
-Disseminates and leverages its work externally
-Serves as UHG’s thought leadership platform
 
The Center seeks an outstanding and experienced health care analyst to serve as a core member of a high-performing, fast-paced, close-knit team of innovative health care economists, researchers, and analysts working within a dynamic and hard-charging Enterprise. The analyst’s primary responsibilities are to:
-Identify and analyze data to assess market trends and emerging issues
-Perform original data analysis and distill findings
-Review and synthesize research literature and analytic reports
-Draft original written content in an effective and timely manner, including both internal work product and deliverables for publication
-Maintain expertise on key health policy and market issues
-Support the Center’s leadership in other capacities as needed

The Associate at Decision Resources Consulting is an entry level position that supports project teams and the consulting group by providing research, analysis, and creativity to client engagements, business development initiatives, and internal projects. Associates are integral members of the project team who will be required to act both independently and as key parts of a diverse team. A successful Associate will be a high-energy individual that is able to interact with all levels of project and client teams, provide accurate and timely analysis, and develop valuable results.
 
Associates are expected to contribute to the overall success of a project by executing comprehensive research efforts, owning project tasks, conducting interviews, developing accurate product and market forecasts, and synthesizing large amounts of data into discrete stories and assumptions that drive overall recommendations. As they gain experience, Associates will be expected to participate on multiple projects, effectively manage time commitments, and provide creative insight to each engagement. Associates will be expected to learn and develop quickly with guidance and direction from experienced consultants.
 
Qualifications: 
– Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a life science, business or related field
– Internship or demonstrated interest in biopharmaceutical, consulting or healthcare industry with a track record 
of extra-curricular achievement
– Strong written, verbal, analytical and organizational skills with a commitment to high quality work
– Exceptional project and time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
– Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
– Familiarity with all Microsoft Office Suite products is essential
