Specifically, the Center:
-Conducts research and analysis on key health policy and market issues
-Develops health reform and modernization solutions that:
-Advance population health, increase the quality of care, improve access to services, and reduce system-wide costs;
-Reflect the breadth and depth of the Enterprise’s capabilities and expertise, as well as the Center’s ongoing assessment of public policy impacts; and
-Represent practical, actionable, and scalable options for federal and state policy makers
and private-sector leaders
-Disseminates and leverages its work externally
-Serves as UHG’s thought leadership platform
The Center seeks an outstanding and experienced health care analyst to serve as a core member of a high-performing, fast-paced, close-knit team of innovative health care economists, researchers, and analysts working within a dynamic and hard-charging Enterprise. The analyst’s primary responsibilities are to:
-Identify and analyze data to assess market trends and emerging issues
-Perform original data analysis and distill findings
-Review and synthesize research literature and analytic reports
-Draft original written content in an effective and timely manner, including both internal work product and deliverables for publication
-Maintain expertise on key health policy and market issues
-Support the Center’s leadership in other capacities as needed
Attributes and qualifications:
-Superior analytic problem solving skills and attention to detail
-Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
-Passionate about health care reform and modernization
-Prepared and highly motivated to make immediate contributions to the Center’s work
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Sound judgment, confidence, and poise
-Experience performing data analysis, and interpreting and summarizing results
-Expertise in, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-Degree (preferably a Master’s) in a relevant field, including economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, public policy, public administration, or public health
-5+ years of professional experience in health care, public policy, or a related field
