Richard and Janet Southby Donate Gift of $500,000 to Milken Institute School of Public Health
The Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University announced today the receipt of a generous gift of $500,000 by Drs. Richard and Janet Southby. Dr. Richard Southby came to the George Washington University in 1979 as the chair of the Department of Health Services Management and Policy. He later became the dean of the school and founded the Department of Health Policy. Dr. Janet Southby served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps for 31 years as a colonel and chief of the Department of Nursing at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
