With more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Justine A. Kavle has worked to improve nutrition practices and health service delivery in low and middle-income countries, with technical expertise and leadership in women’s nutrition during pregnancy and lactation, micronutrient deficiencies, anemia and infant and young child nutrition. Dr. Kavle is the Founder and CEO of Kavle Consulting, LLC https://kavleconsulting.com/ - which was established in October 2019. Kavle Consulting is a woman and minority-owned small business that aims to move the needle in global health and nutrition, offering a range of technical services from program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation to equipping public health practitioners with transformative skillsets. Throughout her career, she is consistently known for carrying out quality implementation research/ assessments to inform on program design and implementation in low and middle income countries. She has rich experience with translating research into data use for program improvement- bridging the gap between research/evidence, policy and programs, and tailoring innovative, culturally resonant social behavior change communication (SBCC) approaches to country contexts. She has built local capacity (i.e. health workers, nutritionists, country-based Ministry of Health staff) to strengthen health service delivery of nutrition interventions within health programs and works to integrate nutrition into other health areas, such as family planning, newborn and child health through her leadership on USAID-funded global health projects, such as Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP), as Nutrition Team Lead, and Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP). Dr. Kavle has worked with and managed multi-site and multidisciplinary teams (up to 45 personnel at one time) in 12 countries and worked across a broad range of partners and donors in global health. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Nutrition and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of International Health.
