Global Health Launching Fall 2027

The MPH in Global Health prepares the next generation of global health leaders to design, implement, evaluate, and scale evidence-informed programs and policies to improve health outcomes and advance equity globally. The curriculum combines foundational global health frameworks with advanced analytic and evidence synthesis skills, preparing graduates to assess needs, strengthen systems, improve program performance, and generate measurable impact.

The MPH in Global Health allows you to specialize in a number of topics including:

  • Global Health Policy and Systems
  • Humanitarian Health and Disaster Response
  • Global Nutrition
  • Global Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health
  • Global Environmental Health
  • Commercial Determinants of Health and Non-Communicable Diseases
  • Customize your own program in consultation with your academic advisor (e.g., program evaluation)

Global Health Epidemiology and Disease Control

The MPH in Global Health Epidemiology and Disease Control is a specialized program designed to equip students with the epidemiological tools and methodological rigor needed to support infectious and chronic disease interventions worldwide.

Global Environmental Health

The MPH in Global Environmental Health is a joint program between the Department of Global Health and the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health. 

Global Health Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation

The MPH in Program Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation equips students with the skills to lead global health programs from design through evaluation and to assess the impact of policies and programs to improve population health. 

Global Health Policy & Systems

The MPH in Global Health Policy & Systems prepares professionals to navigate complex policy and health system environments, focusing on how societies organize, finance, and deliver health services to achieve equitable health outcomes.

Humanitarian Health and Disaster Response (HHDR)

The MPH in HHDR will equip students with knowledge, attitudes, and skill sets to assess needs, design and implement programs, and contribute to better policy and decision-making, performance, and addressing of the implementation challenges in humanitarian and disaster settings.

MPH@GW, Global Health Concentration

The MPH@GW with a concentration in Global Health is designed for aspiring public health leaders who want to improve population health, influence policy and create lasting impact from anywhere in the world.

Global Public Health Sciences

The PhD in Global Public Health Sciences program will educate the next generation of research leaders in diverse areas of global public health disciplines including global infectious and chronic diseases, health systems, and population health sciences.
