Omega Chapter Criteria for Inductees (2022-2023)
Please see below eligibility criteria for this year’s application to induction in the Delta Omega, Omega chapter. The selection committee will give particular attention to academic excellence and shall take into consideration commitment to the public health profession.
The GPA requirement changes each year. Before applying, please carefully review the following eligibility criteria and our FAQs to ensure you are eligible for nomination. For Spring 2023, we used the following GPA Thresholds:
If you are a Master’s student with a 3.85 GPA or higher you are eligible to apply!
If you are a Doctoral student with a 3.85 GPA or higher, you are eligible to apply!
If you are an Undergraduate with a 3.75 GPA or higher, you are eligible to apply!
Masters-level and doctoral level students must also have completed one full year of academic courses or be in the last grading period leading to a masters or doctoral degree in public health. Undergraduate students must be enrolled in the last year of a baccalaureate degree program.

Milken Institute School of Public Health masters-level, doctoral-level graduate degree students, AND baccalaureate students must submit the following:
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member, mentor, or colleague explaining your contributions to the public health field. Recommendations will not be accepted from fellow students.
- One-page personal statement demonstrating your leadership potential in the field. The letter should reflect your academic accomplishments, professional leadership, and community service in the field of public health.
- Current curriculum vitae (CV)
- Delta Omega will work with Student Records to verify your GPA eligibility.
Alumni must submit the following:
- A letter of recommendation from a current Delta Omega member or colleague in the field of public health (Delta omega national member list can be found here: https://deltaomega.org/national-member-list/ contact [email protected] if you are interested but do not know a current DO member),
- A one-page personal statement related to professional and community service activities
- A current CV
Milken Institute School of Public Health associated faculty including, adjunct, part-time and full-time faculty members.
Faculty members are evaluated based on outstanding public health performance in teaching, research, and community service and leadership within and outside of the school. Nomination must be made by a current DO member. Faculty members should submit an electronic nomination package that includes a letter of recommendation/nomination from a current Delta Omega member or a colleague and a current CV.
Package Submission Instructions
Please EMAIL your nomination package to Delta Omega ([email protected]), no later than 11:59pm ET, on April 9th 2023. You may include the letter of recommendation with your electronic submission, or you may ask your recommender to send the letter directly to Delta Omega. Please include your GWID on all documents.
