Events at the GW School of Public Health

The Milken Institute School of Public Health (SPH) contains several event spaces, as well as classrooms and meeting spaces, to enhance your event experience. The following spaces may be requested by the GW community, as well as external organizations. Convening Center

Customizable space ideal for social events, banquets, receptions, meetings, panels, conferences, workshops, galleries, plenaries, more.


227 fix-seated auditorium that offers formal space for lectures, webinars, panel discussions, schoolwide staff & faculty meetings.

Exec Case Study

75-fix seated case study that is suited for exec committee meetings, research presentations, high-level meetings, academic seminars.

Lecture Halls

Two 100 fix-seated theater-style lecture halls suited for a more informal space, ideal for screenings, lectures, webinars, presentations.

The SPH Events does not manage departmental conference rooms. Staff and faculty can make reservations through their department administrator. Visit SPH Facilities for more information about reserving a conference room.

Submit an Event Request

Due to the Spring 2023 class schedule, weekday requests for events in the auditorium and lecture halls, except on Fridays, will not be approved until June 1. The Convening Center will be undergoing maintenance upgrades from June 1 to July 31; requests for events will not be approved until August 1. 

The Milken Institute School of Public Health uses the university space booking portal for requests. Staff and faculty should submit requests here; student organizations should submit requests using this linkFor all individuals and groups outside of the GW community, please complete the External Client Request Form. Event requests received by email and requests for recurring use will not be considered. Once a request is submitted, you will receive a response within three-to-four business days.

Certain event spaces serve as classrooms, including the SPH auditorium and lecture halls. Even if their use is academic in nature (ie, academic seminars or workshops), these spaces must still be requested via the events portal. We cannot confirm their availability nor approve requests in the aforementioned spaces until the upcoming semester's class schedule is finalized during the second week of each semester. Please visit the GW Academic Calendar to determine how this may affect your request. 

Departments planning high-priority events should contact to verify the availability of a space prior to submitting a request. 

This portal is only used for event and not classroom requests.
