Omics

Dr. Ali Rahnavard, Dr. Emily Smith, and PhD in Bioinformatics students Ranojoy Chatterjee, Hui Wen, and Clark Gaylord published a paper on molecular epidemiology of pregnancy using omics data in Journal of Translational Medicine. This paper discussed overall trends and examples of successfully using omics technologies and techniques (e.g., genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and metagenomics) to investigate the molecular epidemiology of pregnancy. The paper concluded that omics are useful tools in molecular investigation of pregnancy epidemiology; the tools are constantly evolving and promising for future research.
