At the Milken Institute School of Public Health research is pivotal for strengthening and expanding our school’s foundation. Our faculty’s research often evolves into influential public health policy and practice locally, nationally and globally. Moreover, our drive for research excellence creates a vibrant culture of learning for our students. Students come to us from all cultures and backgrounds, ready for an intellectual journey that will take them to new frontiers of public health research, practice and leadership.

OFFICE OF RESEARCH EXCELLENCE
We are dedicated to supporting the research efforts of faculty, staff, and students within GWSPH. The ORE serves the GWSPH and its departments in different ways by offering strategic research expertise and support for various research-related functions while catalyzing research productivity.
POD 2
In collaboration with research stakeholders at all levels throughout the university, Pod 2 oversees the complete lifecycle of a sponsored research project and provides continuity of support from inception to award closeout.
RESEARCH UNITS
We are dedicated to knowledge and innovation. We establish high-standard Research Units that engage in multi-disciplinary scholarship to stay at the cutting edge of research.

Harsh political rhetoric about immigrants and anti-immigrant actions can damage parent-child relationships in Latino families and in turn lead to a significant increase in mental health problems for the kids in those families, according to a study published today in JAMA Pediatrics.
