Dr. Mohamed has reviewed scientific articles for the Journal of Pediatrics, Perinatology, Neonatal Perinatal Medicine and Cytokines. He is a co-author on a book chapter describing the use of bubble nasal continuous positive airway pressure in managing newborns with respiratory distress. Recently, he co-directs the regional conference on the uses of bubble CPAP in managing premature and full term infants with respiratory distress.

• Review outcome data of infants and their mothers delivered at GWUMC in relation to their medical and demographic variables
• Examine Nationwide Inpatient Data Sample (NIS) and its pediatrics subversion (KID) for the effect of patients' demographic and clinical variables on their health and medical outcomes
• Lead director to build a network of neonatologists and child health researchers to examine neonatal infections related mortality and morbidity in Egypt
