Delta Omega FAQs

For Spring 2026 we are using the following GPA thresholds for eligibility:

  • If you are a Master’s student with a 3.90 GPA or higher

  • If you are a Doctoral student with a 3.90 GPA or higher

  • If you are an Undergraduate with a 3.85 GPA or higher

Delta Omega will work with Student Records to verify your GPA eligibility. Masters-level and doctoral-level students must also have completed one full year of academic courses or be in the last grading period leading to a master’s or doctoral degree in public health. Undergraduate students must be enrolled in the last year of a baccalaureate degree program.

Current Student Nominees must submit the following:

  1. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member, mentor, or colleague explaining your contributions to the public health field. Recommendations will not be accepted from fellow students.

  2. One-page personal statement demonstrating your leadership potential in the field. The letter should reflect your academic accomplishments, professional leadership, and community service in the field of public health.

  3. Current curriculum vitae (CV).

Alumni must submit the following:

  1. A letter of recommendation from a current Delta Omega member or colleague in the field of public health (Delta Omega national member list; contact dltomegaatgmail [dot] com if you are interested but do not know a current DO member).

  2. A one-page personal statement related to professional and community service activities.

  3. A current CV.

 

Submission Instructions

Please use the form below to submit your nomination package no later than 11:59pm ET on April 1st, 2026. You may include the letter of recommendation with your electronic submission, or you may ask your recommender to send the letter directly to gwsphosaatgwu [dot] edu (gwsphosa[at]gwu[dot]edu). Please include your GWID on all documents.
