We are so excited to welcome you to our GWSPH community. Now that you are admitted to the Milken Institute School of Public Health, we want to make sure your transition is as smooth as possible. Please follow the next steps below in order to prepare for the start of your program:

ADMITTED STUDENT EVENTS
These events are designed to introduce you to our vibrant community, world-class faculty, and future classmates showcasing what makes GWSPH the perfect place to pursue your graduate studies.
Countdown to Campus - Summer Series 2026: Throughout the summer, we’ll be hosting a variety of virtual and in-person events designed to help you meet fellow incoming students, explore life at GWSPH and in Washington, D.C., and feel prepared for your first semester. From casual meet-and-greets and campus tours to helpful webinars and community outings, there’s something for everyone. Check out the events below and register to join us throughout the summer!
July 8th (12PM) - WEBINAR: Living in Washington, D.C.
Whether you are local to the area or new to D.C., join us for a conversation on how to find housing in the city, navigate different neighborhoods, and adjust to student life in Washington, D.C. We’ll share tips, resources, and insights to help make your transition to GW and life in the District as smooth as possible.
July 10th (10AM) - IN PERSON: Coffee Chat & Connect
Kick off your GWSPH journey with a meet-and-greet over coffee, followed by a tour of our building and campus. It’s a great way to meet new classmates, ask questions, and start feeling at home before the semester.
July 15th (12PM) - WEBINAR: Urban Health Fellowship Program
Interested in making an impact in urban communities through public health? Join us to learn more about the Urban Health Fellowship Program at GW, including fellowship opportunities, program structure, community engagement experiences, and how students can develop leadership skills while addressing complex urban health challenges.
July 17th (10AM) - IN PERSON: Monumental Steps: Walk Along the National Mall
Explore D.C. beyond the classroom with a casual walk around the National Mall. It’s a great chance to connect, enjoy the sights, and explore some of D.C.’s most iconic landmarks—just steps from your new campus.
July 22nd (12PM) - WEBINAR: Career Services
Learn how GWSPH Career Services can support you throughout your graduate journey and beyond. Join this session to explore career resources available to students, including resume and interview support, networking opportunities, internship and job search guidance, career coaching, and strategies for navigating careers in public health and related fields.
July 30th (4PM) - IN PERSON: Happy Hour
Mix and mingle with fellow members of the GWSPH community during a happy hour near campus at Tonic at Quigley’s Pharmacy. Whether you’re new to D.C. or local, it’s a great way to connect, unwind, and celebrate the start of your grad school journey.
August 7th (11AM) - IN PERSON: Museum Visit
Spend the afternoon exploring the Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum, one of D.C.’s many renowned museums. This outing is a chance to experience the city’s world-class museums while connecting with peers.
August 12th (10AM) - IN PERSON: Coffee Chat & Connect
Kick off your GWSPH journey with a meet-and-greet over coffee, followed by a tour of our building and campus. It’s a great way to meet new classmates, ask questions, and start feeling at home before the semester.

VISA INFORMATION
If you have been admitted to a graduate program at the Milken Institute School of Public Health and require a visa to study in the United States, our office will work with you and the GW International Services Office (ISO) to obtain the I-20 or DS-2019 forms necessary to request an F-1 or J-1 visa from the U.S. government. Final deadline to submit initial I-20 Requests forms for Fall 2026 will be June 1st.
Please note: we will not process any documents until you have accepted admission into a degree program and have paid the deposit.

Be sure to set up your GWMail Address as this will provide you access to other steps later in the process.
REGISTER FOR CLASSES
Fall 2026 registration is now open for all graduate students. The Office of the Registrar has helpful videos and tutorials on how to register here. If you have specific questions, contact your academic advisor.
GET YOUR STUDENT ID
Students will be able to apply for and pick up their GWorld Card through the GWorld Office.
GWorld: Your Official GW ID Card and How to Get One
Your GWorld Card grants you access to academic buildings, the library and other campus locations. As a new incoming GW student, you are encouraged to submit your photo in advance so that the GWorld Office can generate your card and have it ready for you to pick-up for the start of the Fall 2026 semester.
Take 10 minutes now to start your GWorld card set-up process. It will save you time when you arrive on campus. No standing in line to take your photo and waiting for your card to be printed.
SUBMIT YOUR IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
Students under the age of 26 must submit documentation of required immunizations through the patient portal prior to the start of class. Visit the Student Health website for the immunization form and more information on health insurance.
COMPLETE THE ACADEMIC INTEGRITY QUIZ
All Milken Institute School of Public Health students are required to complete the GW Academic Integrity Quiz after the beginning of their first term.
CONDITIONAL ADMIT REQUIREMENTS
Students who have been conditionally admitted and require final transcripts or prerequisites, will need to send their transcripts directly to gwsphadmit

SUBMIT PAYMENT
Your tuition bill is accessible at any time via the GWeb Information System. Tuition charges will be placed on your student account one month before classes begin. Payments are due on the first day of classes.
