Allyson (Ally) Crays is a Public Health Law and Policy Analyst within the Health Policy and Management Department at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. She works on the Public Health Deans and Scholars Amicus Brief and Public Comment Project.
Most recently, Ally completed the Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellowship, where she worked on federal reproductive rights and Medicaid policy with the National Health Law Program and the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown Law School. She brings experience in federal Medicaid policy, domestic reproductive health and rights research, state-level reproductive rights and justice advocacy, and working in a state legislature. This experience includes engaging in legislative and administrative advocacy by developing advocacy strategies, drafting regulatory comments, representing organizations before Congress, and participating in coalitions.
Ally has content expertise in Medicaid policy, reproductive rights and justice, menstrual equity and justice, and general public health issues. Ally has contributed to legal scholarship on reproductive and menstrual justice, publishing in the American University Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law, the UCLA Journal of Gender & Law, and the Northeastern University Law Review.
Ally received her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. She also holds a graduate certificate in women, gender, and sexuality studies from Northeastern University and a B.S. in public health from Baldwin Wallace University.
