Department: Environmental and Occupational Health

Lulu joined the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health as a Postdoctoral Associate in 2023. She received her Ph.D. in Atmospheric Physics and Atmospheric Environment from Peking University, where she was a Boya Postdoctoral Fellow, and her B.Sc. in Atmospheric Sciences from Nanjing University. Lulu’s research integrates atmospheric and social sciences to investigate the drivers of air pollution, associated health burdens, and the structural inequities underlying these impacts across spatial and socioeconomic scales. Her work leverages satellite observations, atmospheric and economic modeling, and large environmental datasets to better understand and mitigate the unequal health consequences of air pollution. Originally from China, Lulu has extensive experience in atmospheric chemistry modeling and now focuses on characterizing air pollution disparities and health impacts across the United States using novel satellite-based approaches.
