Award Impact
Research Innovation Award funding enabled Kathleen M. Roche, PhD, to explore how cultural differences between immigrant parents and adolescents shape family dynamics and adolescent health. Tracking 547 Latino youth over two years, the project found that widening cultural value gaps were associated with greater family conflict and poorer academic outcomes, highlighting opportunities for interventions that help families navigate cultural transitions.
Impact of the RIA Award:
- Number of Publications Resulting from This Award: 3
- Number of Collaborations, Both Internal and External, Resulting from This Award: 18
- Total Value of External Funding Received from This Award: $10,300,682
