Dr. Wen-Chien Yang is a maternal and newborn health researcher. She applies both epidemiological and health systems approaches to quantify the burden of adverse outcomes, identify their risk factors, and understand how to optimize the benefits of evidence-based interventions for mothers and their babies, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. Her dissertation focuses on understanding the utilization and barriers to effective implementation of maternal and newborn health interventions. She is also a trained pediatrician from Taiwan.
