Upcoming Training Opportunities: International Contracts & Compliance

The Office of the General Counsel is pleased to offer two upcoming training opportunities designed to support your work with international partners and facilitate compliance with key university policies and global regulations.  Each topic will be offered twice with in-person and virtual options.  The registration links and details are below.

International Contracts Training -This session will focus on international-specific contracting clauses, including: Identifying key clauses in an international context, Negotiating alternatives, Complying with GW policies, Understanding GW signature authority, Issue spotting tips and tricks, Interactive hypotheticals

Training Options: Details of in-person training on the Foggy Bottom Campus and Virtual (Zoom) training will be provided via Calendar invite after completing the Registration Form.

International Compliance Training- This session will cover key regulations that impact GW’s international operations, including: Sanctions and Restricted parties, Cross-border currency movement, Anti-boycott and anti-money laundering laws, Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), International employment and Independent contractors, Export Control (for beginners), And more!

After completing your registration, you will receive a calendar invite for your chosen session(s) with additional specifics. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance to be covered during the presentation.  Following the presentation, attendees will be given ongoing access to the training materials, links to resources referenced, and current GW model documents for use in an international context.
