How To Submit an Abstract for GW Research Days 2015

On April 1, 2015, GW will host the  20th Annual Research Days for students and postdoctoral researchers from Milken Institute School of Public Health, the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, School of Nursing, and the Biomedical Engineering program. The event highlights research, scholarship and creative endeavor at GW.

The first step to participating in GW Research Days, is submitting an abstract by the March 1, 2015 deadline. Here is what you need to know:

How Do I Submit My Abstract for GW Research Days?

Abstract Eligibility, Guidelines and Instructions
Eligibility:

Students:

Any student within the invited GW department may submit one abstract as the first author. Your faculty advisor must be a co-author and must review and approve your abstract prior to submission.

Faculty:

Any faculty member within the invited GW department may submit one abstract as a first author.

Guidelines:

1. Only one abstract per presenter as first author will be accepted.

  • Each student may only submit one abstract.
  • Although a faculty member may be the sponsor of more than one student abstract, faculty may submit only one abstract as a presenting author.

2. All abstracts should include the following elements: title, author(s) [including faculty advisor for students and eligible graduates], current affiliation of each author, objective, methods, results to date, and conclusions.

Instructions:

1. All of the required elements (stated above) must be included for printing in the Research Day abstract book.

2. For all submissions:

  • Type all required elements single spaced using a font size of 11 point, Times New Roman.
  • The text of the abstract should be no longer than 300 words. *Please note: the word count pertains to the abstract text ONLY. The abstract title and authors are NOT counted toward the word count total.
  • Student submissions: Faculty advisor name should be followed by “(faculty advisor).” Please CC your faculty advisor on the email when submitting your form.
