Samantha Appleby joined the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at The George Washington University in January of 2016. She has been working in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. The majority of her professional accomplishments have been in wellness program management, personal training, coaching, teaching, and leadership roles in environments of higher education. In her current position as a Lifestyle, Sport and Physical Activity (LSPA) Program Assistant, she has had the unique opportunity to develop leadership, communication, and facility oversight skills in a high-tempo program that delivers more than 100 activity courses to The George Washington University’s community across our multiple campuses and affiliated locations. Samantha has also had the opportunity to impact community members’ lives by serving as an LSPA Instructor, teaching high intensity training, weight training and older adult fitness class formats. With her experience stretching across various and diverse populations, her most valued skills and specialties are in working with women and seniors.
