Liz Borkowski, MPH is the managing editor of Women's Health Issues, the peer-reviewed journal of the Jacobs Institute of Women's Health; a researcher in the Department of Health Policy and Management; a member of the GW Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health; and managing director of the Jacobs Institute of Women's Health. Her areas of expertise include reproductive health and US healthcare policy affecting women's health. From 2006 - 2014, she worked in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health on issues of occupational health policy, including access to paid sick, medical, and family leave. She is a contributor to the public health blog The Pump Handle.

Current research projects address scientific integrity in the federal government and US policies affecting women's health. Past projects have addressed abortion policy, medication abortion, long-acting reversible contraception, insurance billing at Title X providers, state and local policies on paid leave, and the impacts of pharmaceutical marketing on healthcare services in the District of Columbia.
