International Day of Peace (UN) - September 21
The International Day of Peace, established by the United Nations, is observed annually on September 21. It is dedicated to promoting peace and non-violence worldwide. The day is marked by activities like global ceasefires, peacebuilding events, and moments of silence, encouraging individuals and communities to work toward harmony and conflict resolution.
Hispanic Heritage Month - September 15 to October 15
Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the rich culture, history, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities in the United States. The observance begins on September 15, marking the independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, and extends to October 15. Throughout the month, people recognize the diverse traditions and influential figures who have shaped the nation.
Mabon (Autumn Equinox) - Around September 21-23
Mabon is a Pagan and Wiccan holiday celebrated around the autumn equinox, typically between September 21 and 23. It is a time to honor balance, harvest, and gratitude as the day and night are of equal length. Mabon marks the second harvest festival in the Pagan calendar and focuses on giving thanks for nature's abundance while preparing for the coming winter.
Bi Visibility Day - September 23
Bi Visibility Day, also known as Celebrate Bisexuality Day, is observed annually on September 23. It highlights the challenges and contributions of the bisexual community while raising awareness of biphobia and bisexual erasure. The day encourages greater visibility and acceptance of bisexual identities within the LGBTQ+ community and society at large.
