Pan was/is a lead biostatistician on the Diabetes Prevention Program Outcome Study, Antibacterial Resistance Leadership Group, the Antenatal and Postnatal Care Research Collective and PATHWEIGH Pragmatic weight management in primary care. She has taken the statistical leadership roles as PI or co-I in multiple clinical and epidemiological projects sponsored by NIH, Gates Foundation, FDA. She publishes extensively on modern biostatistics methods with applications in clinical and biological studies as well as in legal and public policy settings. She is the recipient of the 2022 Gertrude M. Cox Award.
