EOH professors, lecturers, students and staff were busy in Fall 2016! Our many achievements include:
- Awards: Dean Goldman earned two major awards and our faculty earned more than $925,000 in new grants.
- Student accomplishments: Students presented culminating experiences on topics including occupational hazards in Nicaragua and Nigeria and the Valley Fever that can impact residents living in the southwestern U.S. Alumni had some impressive publications and traveled to present research conducted at GW. This newsletter also lists alumni jobs for the first time.
- Publications and presentations: Potentially harmful chemicals in house dust, evidence that people can be infected with MRSA by both consuming and handling contaminated poultry, and why public health seems to stop at the schoolhouse door were among the dozens of papers and talks by our faculty this fall.
- News: Research by our faculty was featured by media outlets including CBS News, National Public Radio, TIME, U.S. News & World Report, the Washington Post, and National Geographic, and our professors were quoted as experts in some of those outlets and many others.
