Marsha Regenstein is a Professor in the Department of Health Policy. She also directs the Department's Master of Science degree in Health Policy, and is the DrPH Program Director for GWSPH.

Addressing quality and disparity issues in health care are guiding concerns of Professor Regenstein, a George Washington University alumna and member of the school's faculty since 2001. Currently Professor Regenstein is the Associate Director of Aligning Forces for Quality, a far-reaching initiative aimed at improving the overall quality of health and health care at the regional level. She is also the Project Director of Speaking Together, a program that has a special focus on raising the bar in language services and reducing health care disparities associated with language barriers. Aligning Forces for Quality and Speaking Together are both national Robert Wood Johnson Foundation programs, and are housed in the Department of Health Policy's Center for Health Policy Research. Professor Regenstein is also serves on committees with the National Quality Forum and the National Committee on Quality Assurance.

Formerly, Professor Regenstein has held positions as the Director of the National Public Health and Hospital Institute, a nonprofit research and education organization that addresses issues of national importance to safety net providers and the patients they serve, and as the Vice President for Research for the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems. Prior to joining George Washington University, Professor Regenstein was Vice President of the Economic and Social Research Institute, which conducts research designed to enhance the effectiveness of social programs, to improve the way health care services are organized and delivered, and to make quality health care accessible and affordable.
