Alokananda Ghosh, MD, PhD is an Assistant Research Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at George Washington University. She completed her PhD in Biostatistics and Data Science in May 2019 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and previously obtained her MD from Baylor College of Medicine and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Ghosh is currently a co-investigator and statistician on GRADE (Glycemia Reduction Approaches in Diabetes: A Comparative Effectiveness Study) at the Biostatistics Center. In addition to her co-investigator and statistician roles, Dr. Ghosh is a licensed physician with a background in internal medicine and she gives quarterly medical seminars to the Biostatistics Center geared towards providing clinically focused didactics on disease processes, their underlying pathophysiology and relevant anatomical structures. She is particularly interested in clinical applications of biostatistics and data science and their contributions to evidence based medicine, including the design and implementation of large multi-center clinical trials and other longitudinal studies.
