The awards recognize alumni who have made a meaningful impact on public health through their work and dedication, exemplifying the school’s mission to improve community health worldwide.

With more than 15,000 graduates working across all 50 states, U.S. territories, and 48 countries, GWSPH’s alumni community demonstrates the power and reach of public health. The 950 Awards highlight the transformative work of these professionals, showcasing the influence of GWSPH’s training and their continued commitment to the field. This year, four exceptional alumni were honored:

Gabriella Andreotti, MPH '98, PhD '07

Dr. Andreotti’s work at the National Cancer Institute has led to critical insights into cancer risks associated with pesticides. She remains actively involved with GW, teaching and mentoring students, and sharing her expertise with future public health professionals.

Commander Kate Migliaccio Grabill, MPH '06

CDR Grabill’s leadership in public health communications has been instrumental during critical events like the Ebola outbreak, Flint Water Crisis, and COVID-19 pandemic. She reflected on her recognition: “What an incredible honor. I am extremely grateful to be a part of the 950 award. Receiving this award symbolizes being a part of a community much larger than myself.” Her work continues to shape effective public health strategies.

Lauren M. Foe, MPH '16

Foe’s advocacy in health policy has had a significant impact on patient care standards and healthcare equity. As Co-Chair of the DC Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee, she advises city leaders on best practices. Her leadership in healthcare policy continues to inspire and uplift women professionals in the field.

Donald Lewis, MHA '78

A lecturer at GWSPH since 2015, he teaches systems thinking and leadership. Lewis expressed his gratitude for the award, stating, “I was astounded when I received the email. I had never heard of the award, but it means a great deal to know the hard work, effort, and relationships have led to be this meaningful award.” His sentiment reflects the spirit of the 950 Awards and the community they celebrate.
