Sydnae W. Law, EdD, MHA, is the Director for the Office of Applied Public Health at The George Washington University, Milken Institute School of Public Health. As an executive leader and strategist with over ten years of experience leading innovation, transformation and interdisciplinary initiatives, Dr. Law is a key contributor to substantial strategic growth for academic medical centers and institutions of higher education. Most recently, she served as the Director for Community Engagement and Partnership Operations for the GW School of Nursing. In this role, Dr. Law advanced strategic partnerships for the students and faculty to engage with the public and address local, national and global health disparities. With priorities in research, scholarship, teaching and service, the partnerships maximized creative activity and enhanced the curriculum by preparing engaged citizens to serve the diverse scope of healthcare in the human experience.

Dr. Law has a longstanding commitment to the GW enterprise as exemplified through her previous academic leadership and administrative roles with the University, Medical Faculty Associates and The George Washington University Hospital. Dr. Law has proven the ability to build collaborative teams and drive sustainable revenue; with a record of success closing gaps, optimizing resources and delivering accessible, quality healthcare. She has demonstrated experience in global program delivery, financial oversight, business development, marketing and operations. Dr. Law is uniquely skilled in building relationships to accelerate high-profile community-engaged reciprocity, locally, nationally and globally with a particular focus on health equity and social determinants of health.

Dr. Law earned a Doctor of Education from The George Washington University, Human and Organizational Learning Program with a research focus on community engagement as a learning tool in service to underrepresented and medically underserved communities. She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Science from Towson University. Dr. Law has presented at local and national conferences on topics including inclusive excellence; civility in the workplace; and the importance of experiential learning and best practices that prepare providers-in-training to join the workforce.
